The donor no needs to travel to the National Blood Center.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #333333;\"> \u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<br \/><span style=\"font-family: Prompt; font-size: 14pt; color: #333333;\"><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a02. HLA Verification Typing :<\/strong> is high-resolution testing of HLA tissue. This process, the donor must travel to the\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0National Blood Center and be informed in detail about stem cell donation thoroughly including health history\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0screening. If the donor is willing to donate and no health problems, a blood sample will be collected about\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a050 c.c. for HLA typing and blood infectious testing. The staff will then inform the tested result to the donor.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0If the donor is not convenient to travel to the National Blood Center, please inform the staff to coordinate\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0with the RBC or where you are convenient to travel to collect the samples.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Prompt; color: #333333;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Prompt; font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'arial black', 'avant garde'; color: #333333; font-size: 18pt;\">\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Physical examination procedures<br \/><\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 If the HLA Verification Typing procedure has done and reveals that the donor has HLA tissue matched\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 with the patient, there will be a staff contacting you to make a physical examination appointment. Before\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 stem cell donation, the donor must have a physical examination at the National Blood Centre&#8217;s member hospital.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 For the physician to assess the donor that is in good health and able to donate stem cells.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Cordia New',sans-serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; color: red; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: TH;\"><span style=\"font-family: Prompt; font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'arial black', 'avant garde'; color: #333333; font-size: 18pt;\">\u2022 <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Prompt; color: #333333;\">Stem cell donation method<br \/><\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Prompt; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 1. Peripheral hematopoietic stem cell donation<\/strong><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Prompt; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 There is a very small amount of stem cells in the peripheral blood line. Therefore, the donor must be injected\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) once a day for 4 days prior to the donation for stimulating\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 the stem cells to come out in the bloodstream. Then collect the stem cells from veins in both arms by using\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 an automatic stem cell separator machine which will take time around 4-5 hours per day for 1-2 days.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The donor will be recovered in 3-5 days after donation.<br \/><\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Prompt; color: #333333;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a02<span lang=\"TH\">. <\/span>Bone marrow stem cell donation<br \/><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: Prompt; font-size: 14pt; color: #333333;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The donors may need to collect 1-2 bags of their blood for using themselves, 1-2 weeks prior to donation.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Then on the day of donation, the stem cells will be collected in the sterile room. The donor will be under\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 general anesthesia during the procedure by the anesthesiologist. The physicians will collect donors\u2019 bone\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 marrow by using aspiration needles at the hip bone area which will take time around 2 hours.
